Each design is comprised of various stones, granite, rock, marble, or brick that can be smoothed and buffed for the perfect style. Glossy and laminate tiles can add a smooth, and silky finish to the pool edge. Matted or textured tiles can add some other visual effects.
Types of Pool Tile
Stone look tiles are the most popular, and are fairly easy to install. They are generally 6x6 tiles that can be staggered and cemented in place.
Gloss tiles are also 6x6, and can be easily cemented along with stone tiles for a combination finish. Alone, these tiles will reflect light very easily and they offer a smoother surface.
Mosaic 6x6 tiles can help to create a distinct pattern and design throughout the entire area. These can be connected by color or lines, and will have a high visual appeal.

Coping, Paving, and Installation
Matching pool tiles are also available for the decking and patio. These will give the pool area a smooth, clean, and unified image. Coping the pool and deck area involves placing and cementing the tiles into place. Larger tile sizes are usually available in the selected design.
Installation of the pool tiles can take from 4-6 weeks, as each tile will be placed by hand. The process goes through a cycle of design, placement, drying, and finishing.
Pool tiles can be as small as 3x3 which can take much longer. Mosaic tiles and glossy styles in particular may take longer because of design parameters and requirements. However, the final look and feel of a well-tiled pool is unique and will make your pool one of a kind.
