Inground Pools

Choosing inground pools is an excellent choice for many pool owners, and welcome addition to your home.

Inground pools not only increase the property value of your home, but can offer flexibility in design, easy cleaning options, and offer various styles and models to cater to almost all tastes.

Depending on the construction and materials used, installation can range from three to 12 weeks. This will largely depend on your pool designer and construction crew.

Advantages

Inground Pools

Pools that are inground offer many advantages over portable or above ground pools:

  • Low initial investment and costs, followed by easy maintenance requirements
  • The construction team can manage everything from excavation to installation
  • Adapt quickly and easily to soil shifts up to two feet
  • Variety of finishes and designs to choose from
  • Strong construction options from fiberglass, concrete, and vinyl-lined pools
  • Easy to maintain, clean, and repair
  • Attractive decking and accessorizing options

Inground Pool Construction

Pools built into the ground go through a step by step construction process, and the length of time will vary depending on the size of the pool and materials selected. The construction process will involve:

  • Site excavation where the pool construction crew will measure and zone the area before they begin the dig. This can take up to one week.
  • Obtaining a building permit or land use permit. A local inspector will issue a certificate for your pool.
  • Outlining the pool specifications and parameters. The construction crew will layer stone tiles on the edges of the pool.
  • The concrete pour to serve as the foundation.
  • A layer of tiling to cover any cracks and add another secure foundation.
  • Coping
  • Plastering
  • Adding to the complete design with color or texturing
  • Setting, then filling the pool for use!

If your inground pool is made of concrete, it will require resurfacing approximately after 13 years. Any nicks and cracks can be managed with some general pool repair.

Fiberglass is less likely to incur damages, and is easy to maintain. Vinyl-lined pools may tear, but can be easily replaced or patched.
