Exercise Swimming Pools

Exercise swimming pools offer many benefits for both pool owners and exercise enthusiasts. Installing an exercise swimming pool can provide countless health benefits and serve as a positive investment towards a healthy lifestyle.

Swimming pools not only offer easy installation and lifetime warranties, but they can be customized to best suit any exercise regime. Lap pools, wave pools, and resistance pools are just a few variations of standard swimming pools, and the use of jets and pressure can add the resistance needed to provide a good workout.

Types of Exercise Swimming Pools

Exercise Swimming Pools There are a few different types of exercise swimming pools with unique benefits. Some designs may offer an underground treadmill, while others will offer current systems that provide resistance for fitness conditioning.

Common types of exercise swimming pools include:

  • Underwater treadmill systems
  • Above ground lap pools
  • Swim spas
  • Intensive current pool systems

Underwater Treadmill Exercise Swimming Pools

These pools are ideal for fitness conditioning, athletic rehabilitation, and offer a low-impact, high-resistance workout. The treadmill is installed at the bottom of the pool and allows the swimmer to "walk" underwater for extended periods of time. These treadmills are easy to maintain, and can provide a powerful low-impact workout in addition to space for lap swimming.

Above Ground Lap Pools

These pools offer the benefits of an outdoor pool with the addition of longer lengths. Lap pools can be full-size or half-size Olympic-style pools that allow for easy lap swimming. These are ideal for professional aquatic fitness, low-impact exercising, and athletic rehabilitation.

Swim Spas

These pools offer the benefits of aquatic therapy within the pool setting, and can be used for athletic conditioning and rehabilitation. These are generally smaller than full-size pools, and will be installed with a powerful current system to adjust the flow of water.

Current Pool Systems

These pools are electronically controlled and extend electrical currents to create waves or ripples in the water. The varying levels of water circulation provide resistance, and can help with fitness and conditioning in the long-term. Low-impact exercises are easy to perform with these current systems, and they can provide a powerful workout.
